My contribution for Hop for Hope is finally finished! The 1.2m tall fibreglass kangaroo (now named “Jill”) patiently sat in my kitchen for almost a month while I painted, detailed and varnished her coat. She is now complete and awaiting delivery to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery in Victoria where she will join the 39 other decorated kangaroos for the Hop for Hope exhibition.

Below are some photos I’ve taken of the finished paint job. I’m also in the process of putting together a time-lapse video of the process.

A private viewing will be held in early September before the exhibition launches, so I am looking forward to attending that and posting some more photos of the artists and their creations a little later!

This exhibition will run from the 1st of September until the 1st of November. The kangaroos will then be auctioned to raise funds for the Alannah and Madeline foundation.
